Advanced structural cell biology emphasizing the use of electron optics. Methods of biological sample preparation, theory and use of transmission and scanning electron microscopes, production of photomicrographs through darkroom and digital imaging techniques. Concentrated research on integrated original research projects. Six hours of combined lecture and laboratory group or tutorial work weekly. Prerequisite: Biology 106 or 205, Chemistry 104, and permission of the instructor. Enrollment limited to ten students. P. Owen
