A one-semester course covering three general areas of biochemistry: biological structures and interactions that stabilize biomolecules; biological reactions; and biological equilibria and energetics. This course is primarily intended for ACS Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry majors and does not satisfy any of the requirements for majors in ACS Biochemistry or Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. Students who have taken Course 303 or its equivalent elsewhere cannot receive credit for Course 324. Three lectures, no laboratory. Prerequisite: Course 224 or permission of the instructor.
