Genetic and learned aspects of animal behavior will be examined in an ecological and evolutionary context. Topics include animal communication, territorial and reproductive behavior, complex social systems and sensory capabilities. Laboratory work will consist of field trips and an independent project. Three lectures; three hours field and laboratory work. Prerequisite: Biology 105 or permission of the instructor. Not open to freshmen. Enrollment limited to 13 students.
