This course is designed for Secondary Education minors majoring in either Chemistry or Physics who need some background in the environmental sciences. The course examines the strategies and adaptations used by organisms to obtain the basic requirements of life. It does so in the context of living and non-living factors interacting with one another and their dynamic environment through population, community, ecosystem and ecoregion processes. Emphasized throughout the course is the fact that humans are part of these systems and interact with the environment. This course does not fulfill the General Education Science requirement. Prerequisite: Chemistry or Physics major; permission of the instructor.
