This course provides study of the morphology, physiology, genetics, culture, and control of prokaryotes, viruses, and eukaryotic microbes. The pivotal role of microbiology to biotechnology is also considered. The relationships between pathogenic microorganisms and their hosts are studied, as well as host defense mechanisms. Prerequisite: 02-220, 02-221, 03-220, 03-221.
