Prerequisite: ENG 1010 or 1100. Deals with fiction, and perhaps some poetry of the modern South. Authors may include Faulkner, Porter, O'Connor, Welty, Percy, Price, Tyler, Taylor, and Mason, among others. Advanced Studies in Literature (3). Prerequisite: ENG 1010 or 1100. Studies of authors and works or major trends, genres, and patterns not covered in regular course listings. Individual Advanced Study courses may be repeated provided that they cover different topics.
