Prerequisite: PHIL - 312. This course focuses on the challenge to enlightenment rationality mounted by twentieth-century philosophers such as Husserl, Heidegger, and Merleau-Ponty. Through close readings and discussions of primary texts, students will learn to understand the phenomenological texts that influence contemporary philosophies as well as to think carefully about consciousness, perception, and experience.
