Prerequisites: PHIL - 312 or PHIL - 329. This is a variable topics course for in-depth study of figures and issues in postmodern critical theory or post-structuralist philosophy. Primary figures might include Foucault, Derrida, Negri, or Agamben. Issues might include the deconstruction of western philosophy, critiques of language as representation, biopolitics and the end of modernity, the death of the subject, or postmodern conceptions of sovereignty and the political.
