(3 Hrs) This course is designed to acquaint students with issues pertaining to social work in healthcare settings, such as clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice organizations. Issues related to medical social work will be addressed including assessment, discharge planning, teamwork, and collaboration and the relationship between health needs and social service needs. This course constitutes a practice-oriented course with emphasis on content and skills necessary for entry-level generalist social work practice in healthcare.
