(2 Hrs) This course focuses on applying the nursing process in the care of the adult and geriatric clients with alterations in health perception/health management, nutritional/metabolic, elimination, cognitive/perceptional, and sexuality/reproductive functional health patterns. Students use therapeutic communication principles to establish effective nurse/client relationships and function in the provider of care role in structured acute care settings to administer medications, provide preoperative, intra-operative and post-operative care, identify client teaching needs and implement nursing procedures using aseptic technique.(Clinical 6 hours) Fall, Spring Corequisite: NURS 161
