(3 Hrs) Through the works of artists such as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and their Venetian counterparts, this course will examine the major developments in Italian art from 1480 to 1580. It will explore an array of artistic and cultural issues, including the notion of artistic genius, the relationship between the study of nature and artistic invention, and the changing status of the visual arts.
