This course focuses on the development and application of theories of organizations and analyzes conceptions of bureaucracy and the ideological dimensions of organizational studies. Other topics include the classical managerial model, human relations theory, decision-making theory, organizational control, organizations and their environments, organizational power and change. The course will also focus on feminist analyses of organizations. Prerequisite: Prior Sociology course or permission of the instructor. This course has a community learning component.
