A study of the economic, ideological, and geo-political impetus for US foreign policy and military interventions abroad and their impact on the world. The emphasis of the course is on the trajectory of US foreign relations since 1945. Topics include, World War II and the changing conduct of war, the Cold War, the relationship between guerrilla war and terrorism, Vietnam, the oil crisis of the 1970s, Latin America, and the Middle East.
