This course will explore selected issues and controversies concerning gender, sexuality, and the law in America. We will examine the issues from a variety of legal perspectives and will focus on the social and political circumstances that have given rise to them. We will also analyze the relationship between the ongoing litigation of gender questions and the shaping of public policy.
