A study of Russia's economic development beginning with the industrialization efforts of the late Tsarist period and concluding with the post-socialist transformation. Examination of the Soviet period will include the New Economic Policy of the 1920s, the Stalinist model of central planning, early reform attempts, and, lastly, the perestroika period from 1985-1991.
