This course introduces the fundamentals of computer architecture and the mechanics of information transfer and control with emphasis on general concepts. Topics will include instruction formats, addressing techniques, data representation, program control, the fetch-execute cycle, macro definition, and assembler concepts. Students will write several programs in an assembly language.
