This course explores the fundamentals of stage directing. Students will read texts by and about major 20th-century directors. In addition, students will direct a scene for each class, focusing on and combining different directing skills, including the understanding of stage space, movement, and text. The class will culminate in a presentation of one-act plays directed by the students. Prerequisite: C- or better in Theater and Dance 103 or 208 or Permission of Instructor. 1.00 units, Lecture
