A general course in nutrition that will help evaluate the eating habits of the student and how to improve his/her diet. The digestive process, the role of macronutrients and micronutrients, and weight control will be explored. Nutrition will be examined from pregnancy through the elderly years. Eating disorders, food safety and the general problem of undernutrition throughout the world will be addressed. The role of supplements in normal diets will also be discussed. Homework activities will include field trips, selected writing assign-ments and detailed analysis of eating habits.
