3 Semester Hours Students will gain knowledge in planning and conducting research as well as further advance their written communication skills. Students will critically evaluate published research. Students will use and apply various observation techniques such as narrative records, running records, time sampling, and event sampling to the understanding of child behavior and developmental processes. Students will demonstrate data analysis skills. Students will gain knowledge in the assessment of both typical and atypical development. Students will explore issues of professional ethics related to working with parents and teachers when special needs in children are identifi ed and require intervention. Observation is required.
