3 Semester Hours This methodology course provides prospective secondary social studies teachers the opportunity to develop lesson plans and assessments incorporating state and national standards and pedagogically sound teaching methods. Drawing on social studies concepts, case studies, and cross-cultural activities will practice basic analysis skills in history and social studies. Students will develop classroom activities enhancing critical thinking and study skills, as well as interrelating ideas within and across history/social science and other subject areas. Emphasis will be placed on designing instructional activities to engage all learners. Special approval required.
