2 Semester Hours Introduction to scientifi c diving, including studies of benthic populations and communities using line and belt transects, plot sampling methods, and fi sh survey techniques. The design, data collection, and analysis will be from local submarine coastal habitats. The class will also cover fundamentals of dive physics and physiology, fi rst aid, CPR, oxygen administration, and dive tables. Requires consent of instructor and basic open water SCUBA certifi cation.
