The study of surficial processes and landforms in the context of their historical perspective. Emphasis will be placed on evolution of the earth; stratigraphic principles, tectonic framework of North America; landforms and depositional environments; climate, weathering, surficial processes, and sea level changes; and significant events in the history of plants and animals. Laboratory exercises involve geologic maps, invertebrate paleontology, and surficial processes including envrionmental applications. Prerequisite: GEOL121 or NSCI102 or GEOL115. (3,2) 4
