A study of the relationship of fishes to their physical, chemical and biological environments in natural and perturbed aquatic ecosystems with an emphasis on response and adaptation at the organism, population and community levels. Various types of aquatic ecosystems will be examined with respect to habitat accommodations of fish and the impact of human activities.
