In this class we will be discussing some of the history of electrical power generation and regulations that formed the way the business developed in the United States. We will review environmental regulations and their effect on the electrical power generation business today. We will evaluate the deregulation of the electrical generation business and discuss the facts, the pro and cons and current events occurring throughout the United States. Finally, the students will be challenged to propose solutions to avoid energy shortages in the future. Pre-1999 Competencies: PW-5, PW-G, PW-J, PW-K. PW-M.
