In ancient times, science and philosophy were one and the same. Our contemporary views of nature and the scientific method are relatively late additions to the world's bank of knowledge. In this class, students will explore how thinkers in older societies make sense of nature. Systems to be examined include mythological approaches to explaining the natural world, and ancient laws derived from Anthropology, Archeology, Astronomy and the theories of Quantum Physics.
