Biological weapons turn the remarkable progress of medical science into an emerging global threat that poses the policy dilemma of whether to disarm or defend against them. In this course, students will be introduced to normal anatomy and physiology and the technologies that help to understand human function. We will explore biological, medical, historical, ethical and environmental issues to understand the past, present and future of this method of warfare through lectures, team presentations, discussion, readings and individual research projects.
