Description:
From the mid-century push for statehood and the 1960's fight for Native land rights, through the pipeline boom of the 1970's and the economic bust of the 1980's, Alaska's recent history has been tumultuous and presents an ideal context for exploring the challenges of resource development. Many of the controversies which have recently divided Alaska result from the complex relationship between rights of indigenous people and development of the state's rich natural resources.
