This course examines the human body in all its aspects. Topics include: the religious body, the body in medicine and science, the cyber body and other technologies, the presentation of self/class/gender/culture/race through the body, the body as art and the images of the body in art. We devote 25% of the class to hands-on project work in the art studio and another 25% spent at the Art Institute, the Field Museum, and the Museum of Science and Industry.
