Prerequisites: HIST 101, 102, 203, 204; or permission of the instructor. A survey of the basic themes of American foreign policy. Emphasis is placed on the cultural perspectives and behavioral dynamics in foreign policy, and how these characteristics helped to shape contact and conflict with other nations or cultures. A secondary emphasis is placed on the influence of international events on domestic conditions in the United States. Also listed as HIST 329.
