F. This course focuses on the literature of Latin America from Pre-Modernism to 1945. The following genres are analyzed: Pre-Modernist poetry, short story, and essay; Modernist poetry, short story, and essay; poetry and short story of the Vanguardia. Oral presentations and research papers are required. Prerequisite: Spanish 308 and 309, or permission of the instructor. Not offered 2008-2009.
