S. The course introduces students to the world of Medieval Spain through its literature. It will explore the ways in which this literature both reflects and impacts the culture from which it comes. Through a close reading of a few works, the values and morals that shaped medieval society are compared and contrasted to the values held today. Daily homework, an oral presentation and a final research paper are required. Prerequisite: Spanish 308 and 309, or permission of the instructor. Not offered 2008-09.
