S. An introduction to current methods of teaching general music in public and private schools. Students will gain knowledge of teaching methods and materials used in classroom music including textbooks, instruments, and software. Philosophy, curriculum, and administration in relation to the general music program will be discussed. This course takes the place of Music 238 for music education majors and is an elective for elementary fine arts majors. Prerequisite: Music 105, sophomore status, and the ability to read music proficiently.
