F and S. This course will provide the student with a basic understanding of human nutrition. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of food and nutrients in sustaining optimal health. Specific topics of study will include nutrition as it relates to athletic performance, the onset of diseases, and obesity. Prerequisite: Biology 115, 206, or equivalent.
