An investigation of the generation, ascent, and emplacement of magma and the mineralogy, chemistry, field associations, tectonic setting, and genesis of igneous rocks, as well as investigation of the tectonic setting, field associations, classification, structure and texture, and genesis of metamorphic rocks.
