S. This course investigates various dynamic aspects of machinery. An in-depth study is made of mechanisms such as the four-bar linkage. Cams and gears are studied in the context of their use in machines. Vibration concerns are addressed including methods of balancing rotating machinery. Kinematics and kinetics are studied in a three-dimensional space with an emphasis on application in the area of robotics. Computer simulation of mechanisms is used to reinforce basic concepts. Prerequisite: Engineering 202.
