This course is a critical study of the historical and philosophical perspectives pertaining to the science and practice of medicine with particular emphasis on the methodology, results, and implications of current medical research. Students study the medical literature towards a critical analysis of selected representative societal and ethical issues in medicine. Prerequisites: Senior status in biology or biochemistry program or permission of the instructor, Biblical Foundations I or Theological Foundations I, Developing a Christian Mind, and Philosophical Foundations.
