F and S. This course is designed for students in the elementary education program. In this course students use life science concepts in an inquiry-based approach to build a biological knowledge base that is appropriate to the elementary school classroom. The course covers topics in life sciences that are recommended as teaching objectives in elementary education. These include activities studying cells, classification of living organisms, reproduction and heredity, evolution, and how life forms coexist interdependently within ecosystems. Throughout the course a perspective of respect for God's creation and Christian stewardship of the creation is presented as the purpose for investigating and learning to understand life on earth.
