S. A further exploration of painting ideas and media. This course emphasizes the critical engagement of visual problems and solutions through the development of a painting portfolio. Students will be expected to participate in ongoing group and individual critiques, discussions of assigned readings, and contribute to the dialogue in a bi-weekly painting seminar. Through critical engagement of contemporary painting practices, this course initiates patterns of individual research in the production of a painting portfolio. Materials fee. Prerequisite: Art Studio 251.
