Prerequisite: Math Placement Level 2 or MTH1012 or equivalent with a grade of C or higher Includes a brief review of intermediate algebra: sets of real numbers, intervals, absolute value, quadratic equations, and inequalities. College algebra topics include: functions and their inverses, techniques of graphing functions, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial and rational functions, min-max problems, exponential and logarithmic functions, properties of logarithms, and exponential growth and decay. Emphasis is placed on developing conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
