The nature of the didactic portion of this course is problem based. Specific content includes casebased scenarios focusing on lower extremity and spinal orthopedic assessment and treatment, taping and bracing, biomechanical assessment and orthodic fabrication, assessment of pre-participation examinations. Students also obtain clinical athletic training experience under the supervision and guidance of an approved clinical instructor. Weekly maximum of 15 hours of practical experience required. Prerequisites: AT 125, AT 129, AT 240, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
