Prerequisite, PSY 101. An overview of the field of abnormal psychology, which is the application of methods, principles and findings from psychological research to understand, classify, and treat "abnormal" behavior and psychologically-based human suffering. Topics of lectures, discussions and video presentations provide an integrative overview of current approaches to classification, assessment, and treatment of psychological disorders and mental illness.
