Prerequisite, PSY 101. An exploration of how psychological principles apply to the study and understanding of sports and related issues. Applicable for Psychology majors, Athletic Trainers majors, coaches, and anyone interested in analyzing sports topics from an advanced cognitive perspective. The course examines research from social, clinical, counseling, and experimental psychology as they relate to teamwork, cohesion, sports aggression, fan violence, motivation to achieve excellence, exercise adherence, and adult influences on child sports experiences.
