An introduction to the painting, sculpture, and architecture of the Baroque and Rococo periods in Europe ca. 1600-1750. Artists such as Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt, Bernini, Vermeer, Velasquez, and Fragonard are studied against a background of political, religious, and social events and ideas.
