Prerequisite, ART 295, or consent of instructor. Required of all junior art history majors, this seminar surveys the many methodologies used by art historians to understand works of art. Seminal texts representing the methods of Formalism, Iconography, Connoisseurship, Marxism, Feminism, Structuralism, and Post-Structuralism are discussed and applied.
