Prerequisite, MUS 235, or pass aural skills placement examination. Exercises in singing seven, six, and five note modes and scales. Exercises in identifying neotonal sonorities. Prepared and sight reading of modal, atonal, and serial melodies. Melodic dictation using modal, atonal, and serial melodies. Rhythmic transcription including polymetric textures. (Offered spring semester.) 1 credit.
