A critical and in depth study of the various aspects of orchestration and extended instrumental techniques used in music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The primary emphasis will be placed on works that exemplify current notion systems and orchestration techniques present in the orchestral and chamber music repertoire since 1950. (Offered spring semester.) 2 credits.
