Designed for advanced students, this course focuses on persuasive public speaking skills used in politics, social change, organizational needs, sales presentations, news media coverage, and commercials, and highlights discrete factors in persuasion, such as problems in determining the effect of persuasive messages, source credibility, and message variables. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits.
