Subject:
Description:
A sociological perspective of sickness and health care linking the individual experience of illness to the context of the structure of the U.S. health care system. The course also scrutinizes the state of health care in the U.S., examines why the health care system is set up for acute illness when chronic conditions are so prevalent and analyzes how American society draws lines between social and individual responsibility for health.
