Description:
-
Jesus Christ has been the dominant religious and cultural figure in Western civilization for two-thousand years. In the past several years a great deal of popular attention has been directed to Jesus and his followers through the publication of The Da Vinci Code and The Gospel of Judas. In this course, we will critically evaluate recent historical conceptions of Jesus, including themes about Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and Judas Iscariot, and explore important implications those viewpoints bring to Christology and theology. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits.
