This course examines social constructions of gender difference and gender inequalities from a comparative, global perspective with an emphasis on developing countries. The course explores, from a gendered perspective, issues of globalization, social and economic development, the international division of labor, military and domestic violence, health and reproductive rights, women's citizenship, and global and local feminisms. (Offered fall semester.) 3 credits.
